Hmmm, DVD-r media sounds a bit dodgy??!!

Try it with:

Max Payne
Time Splitters 2
GTA Vice City
The Getaway
Conflict Desert Storm

If all of these load and play flawlessly ( as the originals do) then u have good media.

If load times go up then media not so good.

Also some cheap media degrades over time. U might find that what works perfectly now might not in a couple of months.

Best advice is always to stick to whats been tried and tested

Traxdata DVDMaster Ritek.

When I first started I used Bulkpaq and thought these were great as my first 5 back-ups seemed to work fine. 4 weeks later only one of them would work and about 50% of the other games I was backing up weren't working.

It saves money in the long run to get decent media to start with

Good Luck!!!

well guys, so far burned and tested 2 more games with the khypermedia -r,,, dark cloud 2 and suikoden 3,,, they both boot up great, the actual game play is excellent however the fast movie or cg seens and musicals freezes for tens of seconds at a time.... then again i burned them at 2x,,, i guess i should of tried at 1x first... played the both for about 30 min each without any mayor freeze..... i will burned all star baseball 2004 now ... will post later the results...

ok i have a backup of timesplitters 2 and i was wondering is the load time between stages ment 2 take a long time like say 5mins......or is this because of bad media(oh and when i play GTA VC sumtimes it freezes with loading on the screen and i have 2 turn it off but other times it freezez with error reading GTA VC dvd) wat does this mean is it also because of bad media......

cheers

Moderators Note: Please don't say you PURCHASED a backup.... This tends to "stretch" the rules and causes concerns........ If you have a backup, please refer to it as your backup, and not if you purchased it or not..... Much less troublesome......

Sounds like a media problem. If it takes too long to load then the laser is having a hard time focusing on the media..... Try a better brand of media and the load time "should" decrease.....

Yeah, time splitters 2 well known for this.

Unless u put it on ritek dye media it will be very slow, same applies for GTA Vice.

Save money and get right media first time.

Regards

well guys i reburned both games at 1x speed (dark cloud2 and suikoden 3) with the khypermedia and tested them.... the results were so much better.. however still get a some split seconds freezes... so i guess this media is not gonna cut it for the high demanding games like Timsplitters, GTA,,, etc.... i will use it on the low demanding games and dvd movie backups... just ordered some 4x ritek and will do some more testing once they get here...

btw,, has anyone tried them yet at 4x???...
