Generals
I am trying to intergrate a no-cd patch into my Generals CD. I have game.dat and generals.exe that work when they are used to replace the installed files. They are both located in Data1.cab on CD1 so i have tried to insert the new files. The cab files appear to be standard MS Cab files but despite many packs/unpacks, the installer seems to detect that the files are different.
Can someone offer me an indication on why what i'm trying to do isn't working and why/how generals is unable to read the files even though they can be unpacked successfully. |

I have tried several apps to create the cab - Iexpress, ACDZip and a few others but with no luck. i6 is only for InstallShield cabs which this one isn't...

Copy all the files of your cd to a folder, create a folder called "crack" inside that folder, put in all those nocd crack, then burn using the same label as the original cd.

I can do that, but it's not what i want - i want to be able to pack the no-cd into the cab files so they are installed by default.
