Question AOM: Damaged CD. Is there a way I can still paly online?

I messed up my CD's lending them out, now the game won't play at all. I heard Alcohol120% , might help, so I downloaded the software but it all seems to only work if I have the working cd which makes no sense to me!
Also I can play using the patches on Gamecopyworld but I can't get to play online wich is what I always do...

Am I missing something, could someone point me to a FAQ or site that may help with this issue?

I have no clue where to start, and yes I tried searching this already also read the FAQ posted but it all seems to point to im outta luck?

Thanks for any info in advance!

You can also try to make a copy at very low read speed, this will skip over many read errors, possibly allowing you to still copy the whole cd. In Alcohol120's "Image Maker Wizard", select Datatype "Safedisc 2", then select "Read Speed" and put it on "1X", this will force Alcohol to use the lowest read speed possible on your cdwriter, this is usually 1/10th of the normal read speed. This really works, I've recovered five damaged original cd's this way myself. Of course your cd may be too scratched, but it never hurts to try. When you have made this image on the hard disk, mount it in ALcohol and try installing. If you're lucky and the image works fine, you can either burn it back to a backup (if you've got a safedisc 2 compatible writer), or you can do like me and compress the image files with winrar, and then write that 700Mb .rar file on a cd. Et voila, you've got a working backup.

No, if you want to use Alcohol120% to run from the hard disk, you still need to make an image of the original cd. If that original cd is beyond all hope, the only thing you can do is get a replacement. Just try what I described above, there's a good chance it can recover your original cd.

You could also try that thing called the GameDoctor available at Electronic's Boutique. It's supposed to fix scratched up CD's and DVD's.
