What version ps2 do you have and how long have you had a Neo in it? These POS kill your laser. Make sure you are following the correct boot procedure seen here

I am sorry to say, but your laser has likely been fried thanks to your Neo chip. Dvd backup support is always the first to go. Eventually everything will go. Probably time to get a new ps2 and a better mod.

Sure. And stay away from any mod with "Neo" in its name.

ok it might not be your laser it could be that u have the neo 2.2 chip and are trying to boot it with ar2 ? what version is your ar2 as it needs to be ar2 version 1.90 or 1.93

It also could be the original dvd game you are using but after 2 years of neo 2.2 use i would bet on the laser, especially if you had no problems with dvd-r in the past.
