Major Prob....

My PS2 could play back up dvd ps2 games and and cd r ps2 games.....

but i am having a really hard time making it play psx back up games......

Do anyone have a solution...... (ps. i really dont know what my chip is) but for ps2 games i just press the reset button without needing to hold it from standby mode)

for me to boot original ps1 games
I have to turn on my system by holding the reset button until the blue light comes up

If you can boot everything but ps1 backups, you should check your wiring specially the "S" wire.

The guy that chipped it should have checked that everything worked ok. The only advice I can give you is to take back to the guy or find someone that knows and have them check it for you.

So, u puttin in ps1 disk, switchin off, then switchin on by holding reset then releasing when eject light comes on and ps1 disc ain't bootin??

You might have an NH3, press reset, then when the blue light comes on, press reset again, it should boot.

EDIT: Be sure it's in standby mode though
