New Problem for me

I upgraded my dvd xcopy version to 1.4.1.
Never had a problem with recording to hard drive untill this update. Now I am getting a read error.

I have a pacific digital dvd rom drive for reading and a sony dru500a for burning. I had a problem with backing up my saving pryvate ryan dvd. I think my read speed from my dvd rom drive (16x) is too fast. I went ahead and read the movie with my sony drive (8X) read speed and I didn't have a problem and did make a back up copy of the movie.

I have win xp pro and can't figure out how to change the read speed of my pacific digital dvd drive. I think if I can slow down the read speed I could find out if that is what the problem is.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

You can't change the read or burn speed. If an older version worked better for you, switch back. Some people had no luck with 1.4.1 but had success with 1.3.1 Or you can stick with 1.4.1 and read with your Sony...

Thanks for the reply. The first version i had was 1.2.1 and you didn't have the option of automatically writing to your dvd burner.

Does the version 1.3.1 allow you to do this? That is a nice feature so you don't have to sit here and wait for the reading to be done. If it does how do I get it and go back to a previous version?

If I remember correctly, 1.3.1 does have that option. You can get it here

Thanks for the info bighap!!

I just recently bought some new movies and was trying to make a back up copy of them.

Some of them worked and some did not. When I upgraded to the newer version i had to go through the whole process of registering again. I think I will just try the 1.4.1 version a little more before I check out the 1.3.1 version.

Thanks for the link.
