Many people will agree with you Dust. But the Forum's Principals must be the judge of risk to their survivability.
You'' remember that ISONews got closed because of the combination of Warez and Modchip sales. the linkage with Piracy was deemed clear by the US Government and the guy pleaded guilty! This forum tries to avoid Warez but there is somthing bugging the Forum's Principals that makes them think it is not enough. So we have the rule. It will stifle say 1% of the repeated enquires on the subject leaving the interesting stuff open for discussion. No big deal. Besides, now we don't have to grit our teeth when replying to someone who asks where they can buy a DMS3, the future-proof modchip.
