Burn at 4x with 1x dvd-r

Ive heard that u can burn at 2x or 4x with a 1x dvd-r by duping prassi primo. Apparently you put a 4x blank in and just before you start to burn you force the drawer of youre dvd burner out with a paper clip in the release hole, put in a 1x blank and its spose to burn at 4x !!!!. Anyone heard of this?

Never heard of it and would never even consider doing it for two reasons:
1. It is not good to force open your tray
2. You will more than likely get a coaster anyways by trying to burn a 1x at 4x anyways.

Are you concidering damaging your $200-$300 DVD burner. Just to save $1 for every DVD you burn?
Or can you ONLY afford 15 minutes for every DVD burn?
And if you did save that 45 minutes....would you burn 3 more DVDs. Or just leave your computer? (you can just leave your computer for 45 minutes more...right?).....
