how to burn the .bin and .cue files
I just finished making a backup of a dvd using dvd2svcd.
How do I burn it to cd now. I have nero. Do I just burn the .bin and .cue files that dvd2svcd created at the end? If so what setting on nero? Thanks. |

1: Start Nero
2: Cancel Wizard 3: Click File 4: Click Burn Image 5: Point Nero to your cue file. 6: Might be prompted about overburning/finalising cd. Hit OK 7: Burn away

Ok i'm just about getting it now. Well the last concern I have now is that when I look through tutuorials on how to play svcd's on your cd-rom, they say to use the dvd player such as windvd, and open the *.mpg file. After I burned my .cue file using nero. All i have on the cd is a *.dat file in the MPEGAV folder and a few more files, but no *.mpg file. Does that look like a SVCD to you. I got no errors in the creation process when making it with dvd2svcd.

If you have .dat file that means you have somehow made a VCD to DVD2SVCD not a SVCD. You can still play dat files with Windows Media Player though.

Hehe yeah i see what i did. I selected mpeg-1 to make it faster and yeah it is normal VCD. But still a problem. I play it in media player and its choppy and slow as hell. It actaully freezes at the begining and won't move on. I downloaded winDVD4 and it plays alot better but still quite slow and choppy. Does it have to do with the fact that i selected "Motion search precision = lowest quality (very fast)" or that i encoded the video using TPNGenc with a very slow computer. (pII 400MHz) Thanks.

I doubt its because of using TMPGEnc on a slow computer. It probably is more likely you tried a 'quick' conversion in DVD2SVCD. Or maybe it was a messed up burn on your part? Have you tried mounting the image using daemon tools and seeing if it is choppy in WinDVD and WMP?

Yes I did try mounting it with deamon tools then playing the *.dat file with different types of players. none could play it smooth. WinDVD was the smoothest but it was slow and looks like it was skipping. I am playing them back on the same computer (PII 400). Do any of the setting i listed above in other post make a difference on the VCD. Becuase I read in a tutorial that the other encoder ( can't remember the name, cinema somthing) is only compatible with PIII or higher. I will try again on a faster cpu when i get a chance though. Any more info would help. Thanks.
