I wouldn't buy a laser, especially since they are used. I think you just got a bad ps2 Freakzilla. I vacume the front vents and rear fan of my ps2 and keep it covered when not using it. Dust is the devil.(not you dust2dust
 ) You might also want to use a laser cleaning disc every once and a while.
