Roxio EasyCD 5.0 audio cd's

My question is this, is it possible to burn audio cd's with roxio easy cd creator 5.xx in such a way that windows media player would know the name of the track? Meaning, track title, artist, album, etc. I've heard its possible, but haven't found any help on it rather then "cd-text" which Roxio doesn't even let me do.

Also, can I have Nero and Roxio EasyCD installed together without messing up any functionablity?

Thanks!

I used to have Nero and Adaptec (old name for Roxio) installed together a long time ago. Besides Nero telling me when I installed it that 'Adaptec is already installed on my machine, do I want to continue installing?' I never had any problems with them both being on my machine. I hear these days though if Roxio/Apaptec comes preinstalled on your machine, it will not allow you to install certain copying software. Not sure about that, just what I read.

On your first query, if you havent bothered to search google, then do. If you dont get the answer you are looking for on these forums you can always manually type the album tracks into Windows Media Player

So, having both won't be a problem. I use to have both installed, just for a day, but I wouldn't have noticed a problem since I was only using Nero. I use to have the old Roxio (adaptec) which did tell me of it possibly conflicting with Nero, but I installed both softwares, none came pre-installed.

Now think of it, I tried seraching other areas even the Roxio site (which is no help), so I came here, which searches are too broad to get the answer I seek. You think google would help, likely not.

I rather have media player auto detect the contents of the tracks rather then type them in . Would you want to type in the tracks for mutli-disk albums with about 20 tracks each?

Come on.... you are gonna do that at least once anyway.
Seriously though, if you are installing Roxio and Nero yourself, then why bother installing Roxio? Nero does everything Roxio can, and does it alot better (Scientific Fact that is, ask anyone on these forums). Personally I would forget Roxio and stick with Nero. Unless the latest versions of Roxio have some kind of new options that were non exsistent when I used to use it.

BTW Slightly off topic when and why did Roxio purchase the Napster trademarks and domain? Anyone know?

Don't know anything about that.
I guess by the copyright date, some time in 2002.....

And in answer to your statment, no, I wouldn't type in the track names manually in media player, that totally defeats the purpose of media player recongizing it itself.

I had Roxio first then Nero, so I kinda grew onto Roxio, even though Nero does perform lots better.

Back onto topic, all I wanted to know is if the mentioned was possible with Roxio.....

They are starting it backup up again as a subscription service. Stupid if you ask me, especially when you got tons of free places.

Devil Gundam: Use Winamp as your player, it's better if you ask me. It shoud show you your track titles. It always has for me.

For custom burnt cds winamp can detect it if nothing was added to the cd? Windows Media detects tracks, just not custom ones.

It will search for a cd in its database, then it will ask if "whatever" is the correct match. So this won't work for mixes, just actual cds.
