Distorted how?????
Lines going through it??? Reverse colors??? Just a shade lighter??? Just a shade darker??? Be as specific as humanly possible, or even more so. Tyler!

I would say there are lines going through and colors are lighter.

Ok now we got somewhere.
Are originals like this? Are your backups of PAL games? What type of media are you using? Also are you using a different coaxial cable connector instead of the RCA cables supplied with your unit? Are you going through a vcr or anything other than your tv set? Tyler!

NTSC fix ain't gonna fix this, unless someone has already done the NTSC fix but badly!!
if ntsc fix not done then definitely games will b black n white. Sounds to me like a f**ked scart cable/TV/RF lead!! LOL

I tried the NTSC fix colour, when i tried using the NTCS fix as shown in the Installation diagram of M2, the T.V. turned black and white when i tried ps1 back up I eventually disconnect the NTSC fix. I used the cable the comes with the ps2 when I bought it and donot have problems with PS2 DVD originals/back ups and ps2 cdr's before, BTW my ps2 is not working right now due to my laser( i think). The reason why I brought this question is if it's a good idea to just buy a new one and thinking that the messiah 2 being defective? I have a PS2 V5 U.S..
Thanks.... Last edited by TRDragster; 14-03-2003 at 18:34. |

I don't have problem with original and my back ups are NTSC, My connection is PS2 to TV and I used RCA supplied by PS2. Thanks.... |

I also have the same problem too. When I play PSX games their are horizontal lines everywhere. After I connect the NTSC color fix point and change my cable to component cable, the graphic looks more normal(no more lines and correct colors). I test a original PSX(Dragon Quest7) game with M2, the grphic is more "jaggier" when the M2 is on. Does anybody know why??

If u use a component scart lead then u shouldn't need the ntsc fix anyway.
And if u applied the ntsc fix and everything was in balck and white then I suspect u did it wrong. The ntsc fix has two different fix points. Basically u go from the fix point to ground and this will force all games to play in pal mode, alternatively u can go from fix point to 3.5 volts and this will force all games to work in NTSC. It sounds like when u applied the fix u applied it to 3.5 volts instead of ground. By the way, what version PS2 do u have?

I have a NTSC PS2/GAMES and I know I connect it right to ground but the result was black and white.

No, if u have an ntsc PS2 then u must connect the fix point to 3.5V.
U connect the fix point to ground if u have a PAL PS2.

I have this problem too, more explanation
I am having the same problem as the poster of this thread, let me shed some more light on it.
I have not hooked up the PAL/NTSC color fix point. The games I play are mostly NTSC anyways. The colors are only messed up when playing PS1 games (original or backup) with the MOD Chip on. (Messiah 2) Disabling the modchip and booting PS1 originals leaves the color back to normal. I would say the color is not so much negative but definitely wrong. Textures and shading are fine but colors are wrong. For example the large P on the splash screen is a light yellowish orange as opposed to the nice clean red. And the colors are a little distorted at times. Again this only happens when using the modchip on PS1 games in PS1 mode. all other formats display and play fine. Any suggestions? -Mark |
