HP 7200i

Hello:
I used to be able to burn the selfboot games with my HP 7200i, DJ 2.00.419 and Jinxter patch. Now on the newer releases I am getting buffer--under-run errors just as the games starts to burn

I have read in some places that it is my burner and I can't do anything but buy a new one. Is this true? Or is there someone who has found a way to fix this for a HP 7200.

Also while I have your attention, how do I make copies of my copies?

Thanks in advance for your time
Dan

BIG PAPA
a lot of the new releases are using a different self booting technique, one that seems to be giving major trouble to people with mitsumi an hp writers...if you have the cash go with a yamaha or plextor...mine have 0 problems..

for your other question read one of my posts..i explain what you need step by step.
after you are done post a reply at the bottom, if more people did that ..you would have seen it at the top of the board and already had you answers...

big papa and dano,

the HP7200i, i do not know how familiar you are with this model, but there is an upgraded firmware for this drive. the drive comes with firmware 3.01. the updated firmware is 3.09.

the 3.09 firmware is for a traxdata model, but is the same drive as the HP7200. i used to have a HP7200i, which died in sept. 2000. i had another 7200 brand new in my closet and recently sold it when i got my yamaha 8424ez for $100.

my friend who has the HP7200i now has the 3.01 firmware. we tried to do a self booting title (quake 1), and it read the first session then started to write, and got a buffer underrun shortly thereafter.

i wonder if this would happen with the 3.09 firmware.

if anyone out there has the hp7200i and 3.09 firmware. please post your results.

also the reader he is using can't read subchannel data.

my yamaha burner does the quake 1 s/b fine.

i guess he will have to learn the cdirip method.

i may have him try using his writer as the reader also.

i have not tried any of the kalisto s/b's yet.

this drive worked great with the games that came out before the self booters with cdrwin2.7a.
