Problem with skipping cdr even when using princo , could it be dma or firmware?
Over the last few years i noticed skipping on my home stereo and car cd player with different cdr. But then i noticed that it was the labels that knocked them off. So i started buring without labels and things seemed ok. Havent noticed any skipping on home stereo using cdr without labels. But the annoying thing is i noticed a few cdr skipping in a car cd player, i dont get it because ive tried others using same brand mostly princo and they work but 2 or 3 skip, this is a new car stereo so i dont understand why some work some dont. I dont have dma enabled and havent updated firmware, but could this be the problem because other copies seem to be ok?? Confusing and annoying. Any ideas? Thanks.
One other thing is it a good idea to use a lens cleaner on a cd writer?. |

I used to get the skipping problem when my CD Writer was connected as a slave drive.
Once it was connected as the master drive the problems went away. Worth a try. |

try with different brands, and dont forgot the writing speed will effect the audio quality i.e try with slower speed 8x or even 4x.

My drive is on master and i burn at low speeds never above 2x
Also ive used princo recently and some pc line cdr , its strange because the car stereo plays some ok on princo and the other but 2 skipped on princo , im thinking it must just be unlucky and the car cd player sometimes isnt good at reading cdr. Do you think this is probably the case ??. |
