Do psx backups with trainers work on ps2's properly?

I have just backed up my tenchu cd and was wondering if it would be okay to patch a trainer onto the cd image? If not, is there a way to take out the patch I put? I was barelt able to read tenchu and I got lucky.

best way to be sure is burn it and see

if u worried about ruining your origanal image copy and paste it
