RecordNow max Conflicts with Nero?!?!?

I have used clonecd, Nero, and Prassi primo Dvd for all of my backups and then I decided maybe I should get Recordnow max. (Since it is hailed as the best DVD based burning program for PS2 games) During the installation I got an error saying that it was conflicting with Nero. I have the lastest nero update and everything

Should I just keep using the software I have or forget about Recordnow max? Suggestions and opinions please!

ok just my opinion, why change what you use, if it is all working properly, i have used primo from the start with 100% success rate, ive also tried recordnow max on my other system just to try it, and that worked fine, but im still sticking to primo as it's doing it's job, the only time i would change, is if primo started to give me probs, so use what works for you

The only reason I'm concerned that Record now max doesn't work is because I will be updating my dvd-rw drive soon and I want to make sure that primo dvd will support the change. And I was told that Recordnow max DOES run smoother than primo dvd. Someone correct me on this if I'm way off.

RecordNow Max DOES work alot smoother than Primo DVD......

It is basically just a newer version of the same software.....

IF you really want to use RecordNow Max........(and are having problems with NERO when trying to install)..........

REMOVE NERO and install RecordNow Max........

Since you have Clone CD and you would have RecordNow Max.... That is the two MAIN programs you need for PS2...... UNLESS you do rips.... Then you would also need CDRWin........

If you have the above mentioned programs up and running.... There is NO reason to have NERO anyways...

I wish I had more info I could supply but I don't. All I can say is that I also use Windows XP and have Recordnow Max v4.50 and Nero 5.5.7.8 running fine. The only conflicts I have ever noticed with burning software is recordnow and fireburner. This problem just caused me to reinstall windows 3 times untill I figured out the problem.

Just out of curiousity. Why would you need dumb old NERO if you have Record Now Max?

Main reason I need it is to burn .cue files instead of iso's. Programs like the new version of ps2reality come as a bin\cue. I haven't found any way to load a cue file in recordnow. If there is on please let me know.

Whenever I had a problem burning a .cue/.bin file I used Disc Juggler and just burnt the .bin. I am assuming that Record Now Max is probably the same way. A .cue file is really not needed, nor is NERO. Anyways .cue/.bin files are made for CDRWin.

My main reasons for using nero are:

1. I've had it the longest and am most familar with it.

2. I not only use it for PS2 games but also for data, music cds and I use Nero Vision express for custom DVDs.

3. Nero will read with my DVD-rom drive and automatically start writing on my DVD-RW without having to swap discs. I haven't found out how to do this with Primo.

If there is a dvd game that Nero won't burn successfully I use Prassi. The only reason that I was interested in Recordnow Max was to replace primo DVD. I know that it does run smoother than its predecessor.

I actually have Nero 5.5.10.15, Prassi Primo Dvd 2.0, clonecd 3.3.4.1, cdrwin 3.9c, Alcohol 120%, and DVD X Copy 1.4.0. and I use them all for different things. I just wanted to stay updated with the best software. Thanks for all of the input.

I have always used rcordnow and clonecd. I recently started trying other software and found that nero was one of the few that did not interfere with these programs for me. Others like fireburner and cdrwin cause my drives to freeze up anytime a cd\dvd is insterted. I have found that once this happens it is very difficult to get them working properly again. So i stick with what works.
