v1.2 xbox not modded
Xbox v1.2 not modded?
-- Posted by wraggster at 20:04 PM Source = http://www.xgen-mods.com/php/portal.php got a email this morning from an anonymous source; At the moment, it doesn't look like anyone has successfully modded a 1.2. t-man does not seem able to get his to work, and he seems to be a very knowledgeable guy. l33 on the xbox scene forums, whilst claiming it worked, has been able to give any proof or pictures of the board for that matter, and it turns out he may have been mistaken for a v1.1 Hence, you might want to change the news article on the front page, regarding the succesfull modding of a 1.2.i noticed there has not been any proof too, so, until someone brings some pictures and whatnot forward, ive got to agree and say i dont think it was modded.

~WoMeNlOvEr ... so far ive moddded xboxes with: 2 Matrixes 3 Xbits My xbox!: -250 gig -XBIT -4981.06 x2 -orange led for light, matching beautifully with the orange x in the splash screen -Component cable my problem...solved?!: -one of my friends says he can get about 450 files off it!... and now i havent seen him for about 4 months..and ive written him like 11 emails.. I opened it up and...wow thats weird? this HD is different than any 1.0 or 1.1 i have ever seen?!!?! it has a white sticker which covers 100% of the top of the drive. still manufactured by seagate and still 10gb. hmm, ok i think. Everything else looks the same, then i notice there are some extra surface mount resistors bottom left of the LPC, and that d0 is closer the the LPC....lol wtf!?! so installed the X2Lite i had bought ready for this box, put it back together and it boots up ok. I install EVOx, xbmp, etc etc etc...and run some games to test it. Upgraded to 4974 Blue bios, tested again OK. wasnt till i came on here now i saw these posts about a new box!!!!!! WELL THEY WORK WITH EXISTING 1.1 BIOSES!!!!!!! STANDARD X2L 4973 AND 4974 WORK FINE!!!!!! This is good news!!! i will post pics of the mod, the board, the HDD and everything working fine to prove this when i get home from work (3hrs!). hope this has helped relieve some of you worrying!

I really wouldn't be too surprised if it did work. I think the board revision was made for cost savings NOT trying to stop modchips. MS knows the modchips can change faster, easier, and cheaper than the Xbox hardware can.
