Angry Help with Mortal Kombat, Hitman 2, and Xenosaga

hello all, i am somewhat new to this having only backed up 12 of my games. i am having troubles backing up my Xenosaga and MK due to the size of them. First off, Xenosaga, when i click on its properties it says it has around 4.1 gb (i believe), but when i copy the image, it turns out to be well over 8 gb!!!

Same thing goes for MK, except its image is only around 100 mb or so over the max amount aloud on a dvd-r.

hitman 2, i get some sub audio error code saying it cannot go below a certain level while copying the image.

one more thing, all the games i have backed up on my HD have images bigger than what is on the toc list provided in this forum. is that just what happens when you copy the image? i dont know, as i said i am new.

Thanks
Jarek

forgot to state i am using nero

First of all, Xenosaga is a dvd9 and can't be directly copied. I believe there is a rip kit out there for it. I personally don't care for Nero as a ps2 burning program, but if you want to continue using it, follow the tutorial here. RecordNow Max is best for ps2 dvd games. You can download a 30 day demo here then follow the tutorial here

My image that I have of MK using Nero is 4.576 gigs, will this still fit on a dvd-r? the reason i am hesitant to try it is because the max amount that can go on a dvd-r is like 4.38 gigs. will this still work with nero, or should i just try it all over with RecordNow Max? I downloaded the free trial, now I just need to find out if I want to pay for it or "not."

I used RecordNow Max last night for Contra: Shattered Soldier because its image is like 750 mb when all that can fit on a cd-r is 700 mb, and that seems to work fine (I played through most of the first board).

So do you think MK: Deadly Alliance will work with Nero (since I already have the image scanned), or should i start over with RecordNow Max.

Hope you all understand all I am saying.

ps- i still have the question on why the toc of a game is smaller than the scanned images of a game. This answer wil prolly clear up some of the confusion I have.

pps- should i just try again with a different software (RecordNow Max) for Hitman 2?

Thanks
Justin

I personally think RecordNow Max is best for ps2 games but if you have a Nero image you can try it. Images sizes are always larger then they really are once burned. You should be able to burn it no problem. If for some reason it doesn't work, just use RNM.

I would take 'Bighap's' advice and stick with Max. I've backed up Hitman 2 and MK5 without any problems.

Very true. Keeping doing whatever works for you regardless of how crappy someone might think your method is.
