To Dude/Data Burn method

Hi,

Just thought i would let you know that i been experimenting with the 'data method' and the 'iso' method. I do agree with you saying that the data burn is more reliable than burning an ISO, as i have made about 11 backups using the data burn and everyone of those works perfectly. I did however, backup 4 games using the ISO method and only 2 of those worked, tried those 2 again using the data method and they worked fine. So basically the data method is far the best.

I would suggest to ask one of the MODS that a 'Sticky' about this proceedure be made at the top of the forum to help new user's when it comes to backing up their games.

yea

i absolutley agree with you. the "DATA BURN" method is far the best method for xbox games. and i also agree with the sticky idea maybe if a mod see's this he or she may do it, i had a simular conversation with quall999 some time ago about this and to be honest i have been way to busy with work etc to do any thing about it.
for those interested i have made 80 DATA BURN backups with no failurs at all. iso on the other hand 15 burns resulted in 8 coasters so pretty much same as your result iso worked almost half of the time correctley. pretty appauling if you ask me

Just a bit confused. I follow most of the instructions on the sticky but I want to know if I can use Nero instead of recordnowmax. To sum it all up, you just ftp all the info from the disc in the xbox and then just burn it as is to a dvd disc without any conversion. If Nero can do it, please specify what settings should be used to burn the files. Thanks!

i have tried nero with several known working xbox games but unfortunatley all crash mid way through.
i have tried different media also same result.

i strongley recomend you go to www.stompinc.com and download the 30 day trial version of recordnow max 4.50 this in my opinion is the best software available for burning xbox games.

Yeah, definitly stick with Recordnow Max or PrimoDVD if you have a Pioneer A04, Primo doesn't work with the A05 or the Sony DRU drives. I have tried Nero for copying Xbox and PS2 games in the past with bad results. Some people do use Nero for their games but i stick to Primo or Max for my games now.

I didn't say Nero wouldn't work, i said i had problems with it in the past with certain games. Nero is a awesome program in it's self, but i find it's not reliable for some games especially DVD's, and others aggree on this. Also, what works for one might not work for another, thats why most of us use Max or Primo for are games.

same here if you read the post correctley i never said nero would not copy xbox games i said all the attempts i made failed. i also said that recordnow max is the best software to burn xbox games.
which it is.
i agree nero is a excelent programme and i use it every day to encode my mp3's and mp4's and even burn some dvd's but the earlier version sucked for burning xbox games.
nero is just starting to include xbox compatability but i still prefer recordnow max for xbox games.

thats just my opinion. i have burned over 90 xbox games with recordnow max using the data burn method and all work flawlessley.

I am trying to use the data method for burning
i readed the faqs
but i have a question
i can manage to get the game run..

i think its because i havent set up the
DATa JOb options

for burning a dvd:
it automatically sets to
Disc at once (dao),closed

for the file system type:
what should i use?
UDF with joilet

or

UDF up to 128 in filename

this are the 2 options i get on
record max..

i am trying to burn a capcom vs snk 2 backup

which version are you using.?
i sugest you download the 30 trial version of recordnowmax 4.50 from www.stompinc.com

when you want to burn a xbox game using this software you do not need to set any special options etc.
just open the programme and cancel the wizard.
go to the top menu bar and click start/ new / data dvd this will then open a burn window.
you simpley paste the game data in to that window and click on the burn button.

check the thread entitled data burn method with screen shots this may help you more.

i would recomend you upgrade to version .4.50,
if you can not upgrade then try the 30 day trial version.
i personally have not used version 4.10 so i don't know the menu structure etc.
