Or try this link:

With this tool you can read the protection.

Moo3 Backup

I too have been trying to back up my copie of Moo3 (excellent game by the way).

Protection ID and ClonyXXL (once it searches the install directory) see SecuROM v 4.84.50.0030

I've tried practically everything (nero then CloneCD then Alcohol 120). I am probably not doing it right, but I can't get any copy to work and the generic SecuROM cracks aren't working. An Image won't work in a virtual drive either, and DAEMON didn't help as well.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

So when its Securom, you can only try it with Alcohol 120 or Blindread/-write.

How its done. Read the faq from Cirkutz in the upper part of the forum.

Could you post the exact steps you took to create this copy? I'd like to make a copy too without wasting half a stack of CD-R's

Here is what i did on from that site:

Better (more precise) but complicated method:

Make an image of the original disc with CloneCD/Alcohol in CCD format using options below:

reading:
Read Speed: Maximum*
Skip reading errors: Yes (sometimes You have to turn it off)
Fast skip error blocks: No
Read Sub-Channel Data: Yes (it's not used by SecuROM anymore though)

You may encounter 1/2 read errors at the end of the cd - this is normal and it is a part of the protection. For explanation - look above.

Then make another image in .mds format with Alcohol using Data Position Measurement option set to High (the lower the speed of DPM the better the results). Since we need only .mds (CD characteristic) not the whole image You can abort reading after getting DPM. Don't delete .mds of course Convert .mds file to .bwa using BWA builder. Use Twinpeak v0.2 to patch CCD image with this .bwa characteristic (use twin sector step 15, 6 and 50 if You don't know what to insert there). Then burn patched CCD image with CloneCD/Alcohol:

writing:
Write Speed: Maximum*
Write Method: DAO RAW
Don't close the last session: No
Bypass EFM Error: No
Rectify Sub-Channel Data: No

Running:

Executables contain ATIP check and several blacklists - if the copy can't run then look below for the ATIP and Blacklists sections of this FAQ.

NOTES: it's better to use Alcohol + Twinpeak because Alcohol gets more precise characteristic from CD (.mds) than BWA builder. For more information about Twinpeak go to: http://kickme.to/blackcheck and http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?threadid=57740

ALWAYS try on CDRW first!!!

II. Emulation:

NOTES With new BlindWrite and Alcohol You can emulate new SecuROM, in the new BlindWrite You can choose the old method for copying the disc (BWA builder) and new method with emulation. In Alcohol all you have to do is to read and write such image with SecuROM 4.x profile, when reading it will read DPM data to the file, when burning it will burn it back to the CD and use it for emulation (R.M.P.S.) It's the easiest way to make a "working copy" but keep in mind that You won't be able to run that copy unless You install BW or standalone Autoplay for BW produced CD's and Alcohol or Daemon-Tools for Alcohol produced ones. When the emulation is disabled You'll see that the label of the Alcohol produced disc is "NEEDS EMULATION". You can find a walkthrough for using this option here: http://forum.alcohol-software.com/in...T&f=18&t=1531.

No-cd crack

My retail copy of the game won't run. There appears to be a conflict with securom and my cd-burner. It seems lots of people are apparently having this problem from reading the official forums.

gamecopyworld doesn't have a no-cd crack yet.

People on the moo3 forums have said there's one out there, but I can't find it. I'm a relative newbie. Can anyone provide directions?

"My kingdom for a no-cd patch."

If you have another drive like a dvdrom or something, play it in there. If your writer is the only drive you have, download CLoneCD, run the clonecd tray util. Click on that and there should be an option to hide the ATIP code. This is what's preventing you from using your original cd in your writer, it's a little gift from those asshole publishers who hate their customers. You can use the clonecd tray util to disable the ATIP check, and in this way you may play the game. Or you can download a crack and use that (ironic ain't it ? ). If the clonecd tray icon is grayed out, set your country settings to another country like Canada. Or Jamaica

All links to Twinpeak are down. Anyone know where I can get a copy?

Thanks, and if there's a simpler way to make a backup copy of MOO3, please, please tell me. I am on information overload

Cheers,

Arras
