Burn Speed w/ Pioneer A05

I was wondering if anyone know what I can do...
When I go to burn a DVD it only gives me the option to only use Auto for the Speed and thats it. I am using Ritek 2x discs and also have used Pioneer 1x-4x and have had the same problems. My firmware is the latest 1.21.
I'm using sonic MyDvd and nero 5.5.10.7.

the lower speed the best results,and you should use record now max ,take a look here .

Not true. If you are using decent media, burn speed shouldn't matter.
