Trying to back up GHOST RECON and NEED FOR SPEED and when i go to build a GI it runs real slow. I have it set for MAX read speed. My mouse cursor moves real slow too. The read speed shows .6 - 1x for some reason. I switch to read a DVD movie and it runs fine at 2x and it doesnt slow my computer down. Any idea? Never had problems before.

I had to restart my computer twice before it acted normal. Not sure what happened. Ghost Recon went fine but had problems with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit2. After i built a GI and went to burn it i kept getting errors then would close. So i ended up just doing a DISC COPY. All plays fine. Now i have 2gig file somewhere i need to delete. I search for '.gi' files but dont come up with any thats game related.

Had the same thing happen to me last night. When you search for the file, choose advanced and then the search hidden files and folders option.

I have had this case in the past. It may take you a few minutes, but I'm sure that it will help you. Go into the C: drive or which ever drive it is in, and drag across several folders, maybe 4-5 and right click and look at the Properties of the 4-5 folders. If it is only like 50 megabytes, chances are that those 4-5 folders do not contain the .gi file you are looking for. Continue down the list of folders until you come across a group that has a large file in them. Then individually right click and check the properties on each folder until you find the culprit.
Hope this helps! |

Yuck. I could be of more help if you had xp or 98. Did you include hidden and system folders in your search? Did you try searching for *.gi?

There is no option for hidden files in the advance pulldown. just subfolders and case sensitive.
Yeah i put .gi in the 'file/folder name' and 'contains' boxes.
