I have a PS2 V7 with magic 2 mod chip installed. My PS1 Back ups work fine as do my origionals. Lately the PS2 Backups have been reading slower and with more errors. Now they just dont work at all. As I said the PS1 backups work great. I use cheap dvd material but have some Apple DVD media also none of which work. Any Ideas?????

Try a laser cleaning disc.

Get this. I followed Chariles advice and removed the Z wire. Now it works. Oh and I cleaned the laser lense also, it needed it anyway.

Ok I gave up it worked for a bit then nothing. I think I had a miswire or the chip just sucked. Anyway I bought the v7 flip top and now I play with a simple swap. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for simple installation and lots of great game play. I also am now a fan of good quality DVD material. Apple 2X DVD-R works great and the price keeps dropping. Apple just came out with a 4x DVD-R which killed the 2X demand. 5 for $15.00 at the apple store.
