Still making coasters?????

Hi everyone,

I need help badly I've been trying to backup my DVD based ps2 games since Christmas still without success. I have a pal v4 with a neo4 chip. My burner is the Sony DRU-500a & using the recordnow max program. I'm following all the procedures listed on this site. When I try to boot I go to the browser screen & insert my original high toc disk(vice city) I hold the eject button until the gold disc shows then release the button. I then insert my backup(gran turismo 3) & once tray has retracted i click on the gold disc. I then get a black screen & can hear the disc spinning but nothing comes up. I have tried sony -r media as well as some other cheaper brands & still no success.

Can someone help me!!!!

UrrBodyH8sMe is probably right.
Since its a V4 maybe your laser is on its last legs.
The Neo chips wear the laser down? I hear it does and experienced on the 2.2 but i am not sure about the 4.0?

All Neo chips kill your laser. Putting in a new mod won't help since it's the laser that is the problem. Either take out the Neo and get a good mod and new laser or buy a new PS2 and get a new mod. Before doing all this, trying using a laser cleaner disc first. Your lense might be dirty.

Thanks for your replies. I have a new laser in it so it can't be the laser. It plays copied movies well just the backup dvd based ps2 games are the problem. Does this info change anything.
