The NEO 2.2 sends a constant voltage to your laser unit, thus burning it up prematurely.

Is there any possibility to chip my ps2 with a messiah?
I mean now i have a neo 2.2, can i now insert a messiah "over" that chip?

Yes, you can have a Messiah 2 installed. Your Neo 2.2 would have to be removed.

But,... how long has the Neo 2.2 been in that PS2 ? The damage to the laser may have already been done.

my ps2 is SCPH-30001 R, so i think its a V5/V6 ps2
I have the chip now for a half year, i think, so might it be too late for the laser?

if your neo2 has a capacitor fitted to pin 2 then your laser should be fine
i hadv4 with neo2 for over a year then messiah 1 for over a year the laser was still good when i sold it at christmas

So first: how do i know if such a capacitor is inside my ps2?

2) can i put only a messiah 1 or can i put a messiah 2 inside?

3) Where can i get such a chip, or better who can insert it in my ps2?

You would have to open up your PS2 to see if the capacitor was installed...

Yes.... You can put a Messiah 2 in your PS2....

Contact Charlie_PS2 or Dust2Dust about purchasing the Messiah 2 AND if your in the UK.....Dust2Dust can also install it for you...

It will not play import originals, you must first make a backup then apply a patch. this is probably the 2nd worse chip ever, the 1st being neo4.
