PSX Backups Not Working On PS2

here's the info and my problem...

backup game: myst, jeopardy, jeopardy 2nd edition
backup burned at: 2x
backup burned using: nero
media used: sony, tdk, maxell
ps2 region: ntsc
ps2 version: 7
ps2 modded with: apple

i also had a v5 using a neokey and these backups still wouldn't boot up. well, they boot up but the problem is that they only get to the psx logo, no further. on all three you can hear the disc spin up then stop, spin up then stop, etc etc. i burned them at 2x so how can the ps2 have trouble reading them? oh, and the strange thing is that i can play them albiet not pefectly, using epsxe(emulator) on my pc. i jus cant figure it out, any ideas? i've also tried some burned by others, but i get the same results.

I will move this over to the PS2 section, you may have some more luck there

Sounds like bad burns since they aren't working on two systems. Try reburning again following the Nero tutorial here You might also want to try changing the cd speed setting on your ps2.

Also.... Try backing up the games using Clone CD instead of Nero...

I had this same problem with my apple and a few ps1 games. First of all if it don't work with Nero burn with Clone CD as BG suggested. Also my problem was fixed when I changed cd-r media. Thats all my problem was. Strangest thing is that the game that didn't work was burned on high quality media. I can send you a blank cd-r for you to try if you'd like.

r they 80 min cdr ?

some modchip seller told me ps2 wont play ps1 copies that r on 80 min cdrs this might be ur prob but i wont think that would hurt cause ps1 plays on 80 min cdr copies with the boot disk i cant get none of my ps1 games to boot of ps2 i got a v5/6 no solder all my games r on 80 min cdr so i think thats the prob they work just fine on ps1 so i will use ps1 for that and ps2 for ps2 copies

most likely the cause is libcrpyt protection must be backed up with clonecd on a dao96 compatible burner

just because your burner works with clone and says it write sub channels ie a03,a04 it could only be dao16 games wont work if they have protection written in the sub channels
