Why when I use DVD X Copy does it want to burn onto 2 discs?
the movies i have and am trying to backup are 1 disc, but DVD x copy wants to use 2 discs to burn, why is this?

look on the back of the dvd case it will say duel layered, this means it can store more than 4.7gb of info.
you are most likely using single layered 4.7gb discs. dvdxcopy will split the film to fit on 2 discs

is there any dual layered media for purchase out there? and how would i get dvd x copy to know i'm using it, it automatically says "splitting to 2 discs"

There are no dvd9 media. There are double sided dvds but it is the same as two discs, one on each side.
