Burning Ps2 Cdr Backups! Please Help!

I'm trying to burn a backup of the game "Tekken Tag". I already ordered a backup copy from a company, but I want to back the copy up just in case that one gets scratched or something. Anyway, I have a macintosh computer with the OS10.2 and OS9.2 with a CD-RW/DVDrom combo drive. I've tried about a half a dozen ways to try and burn this game using roxio toast titanium. My PS2 is modded with the magic 3 modchip so I thought it was supposed to read all backups. Anyway, I've followed the mac guide on how to burn PS2 cd-r's, but my system still just says "please insert a PS2 or PS1 game". The last time I tried burning it by doing a direct burn on roxio, the verification failed and it gave me this error message:

Mismatch at byte 2350/sector 122413
Verification Failed

Does anyone know what this means??? Does anyone know any other kind of burning software I can download that will enable me to make PS2 backups, or maybe a different way of doing it that actually works? If you have any info, please email me or post a reply. My email address is: [email protected]

THANKS!!!

Yes, of course I do. I thought I mentioned that earlier? If not, this is the situation. I have some PS2 ORIGINAL games that I purchased, but I was afraid of them getting scratched or damaged so I ordered some backup copies from an online company. I had to pay about five bucks each for these though, so I decided I would try to backup the copies I had purchased from an online company because my dogs destroyed one of the backups within the first week I got them. So again, if anyone knows any information about this, it would be greatly appreciated. My email address is: [email protected]

THANKS!

I'm not familiar with mac but I think the prob lies with ur cdr/dvd combo. You cant just use any software to copy a psx/ps2 game, clonecd is the best prog for backing up cd based games because it writes in raw mode. Unfortunately very few dvdrom drives can read/write in raw mode. Check out http://www.elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/index.html for more info

Thanks for the url! I just went to the site, it has a lot of good info. As far as I can tell, clonecd is a pc program only because the program downloads as an executable file which can't be read on a mac. What exactly does it mean when you say it writes in raw mode? I've read a couple of guides which thoroughly explain how to backup a working PS2 CD-R using roxio toast titanium, but even after carefully following the directions, it still did not play. Could this have something to do with the raw mode thing? Do you know where I might obtain information or talk to an experienced mac user about what utilities and/or burning software I would need in order to backup PS2 cd-r games?
