will not fit?

I have just backed up my Lord of the Rings DVD with Dvdxcopy, using a pioneer 105, using 2 fws discs at 4x speed. It took about an hour all told.

The picture and 5.1 sound quality is awesome, the problem came when I tried to backup the second disc. I got a message saying the different chapters might not be recognised. The program continued and It split into 2, 2.5 gb chunks, but said it would not fit onto the disc??

any ideas?

If you aren't yet using 1.4 I suggest you upgrade. This fixed a lot of problems.

Yes you want 1.4 You can download it here. If you do upgrade, uninstall the old version first and when asked if you want to remove the gear drivers say yes. After uninstall is complete you will be prompted to reboot, do so then install 1.4

Did you go to advanced settings and specify your burning method?

I use the Nero option and it works great for me. If you have a recent version of Nero use that option. Don't check the UDF(I think) box under the Nero option. If your dvd player supports rewrtiable media I suggest using it until you figure out what settings your dvd player likes. That is if you plan on using these dvds in a stand alone dvd player.
