Followed your advice....recorded it to a Memorex DVD-R ...the game started up about 10% of the time (open and close drive..press 'reset' etc) once started the game played perfectly..do you think the problem is the media or my PS2 laser? Had the laser cleaned when chip installed and they said machine tested fine on backups....am excited to be making progress

Some people have good luck with Memorex some don't. Try a high qualiity media such as Verbatim, Ritek, or TDK.

The problem will be the Magic 3 combined with the media. Beter media boots sooner and magic 3 likes that.

Can't say enough for everybody's help....tried 'Maxell' (b4 your answers....booted 70% of the time)...what would you rate No. 1 for Magic 3 compatibility?

Ritek or Verbatim are your best bets.
