sim city 4 copy protection type?

what type of copy protection does Sim City 4 use?

and can I use CloneCD to make a backup? what settings do I use?

I hate playing with original cd's, they always get scratched up from laying on my desk... I know, I know, straight from the tray to the case, but hey, I'm lazy like that... that's what backups are for, right?

Because its an EA Game, I'm guessing its protected with at least SafeDisc v2.8 if not better. If you, or anyone else for that matter , has the retail, check the exe with b00l'seye's SafeDisc Cleaner. This handy little tool will identify what version of SafeDisc it uses(Of course it wont create a cracked exe though....)

Get SafeDisc Cleaner from Gamefix

Where is the patch? None of the mirrors have one yet.

I got it from IRC....and I just got it to work. You just have to extract the file into the sims 4 folder and use disc 1

Simcity uses SD2.80.10 but there's no unwrapper for it (if yes, email me please [email protected] ) .....but I have a SD2 sup cd writer and a 1:1 copy with Blindrite works perfect :-)
