Dvdxcopy

I am using DVDXCOPY version 1.3.1 and am still having problems.
The copy is made fine but the playback is bad.

I tried it in my PC but I am not using a Decoder, does that matter.
I tried the following software: PowerDVD, Interactual player, and windows media player. They all play the same, the sound skips and you can barely see the video.

I also tried it on my version 5 PS2 and it does the same thing.
I then tried it on my home DVD player - Philips DVD 701

The only thing that works good is the message at the beginning saying DVD BACKUP.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I also use DVD CopyPlus and everything works great on CD-R

One more question, if most movies are 2 hours or less why can you copy just the movie without the menus and extras to one DVD since they hold 120 minutes of video. Just wondering.

Thanks for any help.

What settings have you used and what media are you using? The reason a less than 2 hour movie won't fit on one dvd is because it exceeded the size limit(in GB) that the disc can hold.

DVDXCOPY

I am using Memorex DVD-RW and am using the starding setting and default burn engine. One thing I have noticed that when I try to play an original DVD movie in windows media player it freezes also but will play normal with PowerDVD.
I wish DVDXCOPY was as easy as they say (1,2,3)

Thanks

It is for me First try it worked. Try using Nero option instead of default burn engine. That is what I use.

DVDXCOPY

I tried using Nero and it seemed to copy fine until I tried to play it and it said "file format not supported"

The files on the DVD-RW disc look the same.
Any other ideas?

I posted your problem on the dvdxcopy forum. We'll see what their top dogs there have to say about this issue.

I just have a couple of questions.

1. Is there anyway to make the DVD backup fit on 1 DVD if it is close enough like 1 or 2 Gig.
2. Where can I find DVD cases that hold 2 DVD's?
3. Is there a standard on how long of a movie will fit on 1 DVD, for example a 90 minute movie will fit, 95 and above will not.

Thanks again BIGhap

1. When you start dvdxcopy you should have 3 little windows. One for disc 1, one for ommited features, and one for disc 2. By default it usualy ommits all the extra features. So in disc one and two you should have TitleSet 1(the main movie) and VideoManager. You can save some space by choosing the "start with movie abandon menu" option(or somthing like that) If you have this option selected and all the special features ommited and it is still too big you will need to use 2 discs, in that case you might as well keep all the special features.
2. I just bought 50 double dvd cases off ebay. Good prices there. This is what I bought. Works out to be 65 cents a case after you tack on the shipping cost. I thought 12.50 was a little much for shipping but 50 case is actually pretty heavy.
3. There isn't really a standard. Movies are encoded differently, then you have special features and such. Every movie is different.
