no-solder modchip

Hey all

I'll new to the ps2 modding scene, although I have done xbox modding. I was wondering if the no-solder modchips are reliable or if they work for the most part. I know they are mostly reliable on the version of the ps2. Also which are the better no-solder modchips, if any.

Thanks a lot guys.

They are ok but getting a direct boot chip like the Messiah 2 would be a better choice. Swapping is a pain and many have switched to a direct boot chip after buying a swap chip like the no solder. The no solder chip is called R-Mod or No Solder chip. This requires having a Action Replay 2 or Gameshark 2 and also an original game with a high TOC(see the PS2 TOC List STICKY)
