serious new protection - TAGES and Moto Racer 3

This is the latest protection to hit the games industry. MR3 utilises this protection scheme which is currently undetectable. I think cracking this one is going to make SD2 look like a walk in a park!

I believe Ollie is looking into it.

This should be given serious attention because EA published MR3 who as we know were the main (first?) users of SD2.

Using CloneCD 3.2.3.1 and Deamon Tools 3 fails and the game goes into demo mode.

Hrm, FLT cracked Motoracer3 in less than a week
and released it on December 2. Looks like another
quick walk into the park to me...

From what I have read, a 1:1 copy can be made by using the same settings in CloneCD as you would for a Playstation game. (ie, read & write subchannels)

Be sure and let us know how it turns out. I had read in another forum that someone successfully copied it that way, so as long as your writer is good, maybe it will work!

tages is not *that* new...

mr3 can easily be copied with clonecd. it will install. it will startup. but it will run in demo-mode

. that is the "special part" of tages. you can also say: "FADE that works"

there were rumors that someone succesfully (no demo-mode) copied mr3 with a teac cdr-55s and blindwrite suite. but nobody verified this and now this is mostly seen as a fake.

Blindsuite does not work correctly with the Teac 55S, so that statement is obviously false.

Well MR3 is the first game to use it. Does anyone know what exactly gets "faded" away in OF (assuming it has been patched at least once) ???

Thats what clonyXl thought, no protection, i thought it was lying. Starwars is an awesome game.......
