Unable to get no-cd patch to work/ Madden 2003

After I replace the Mainapp.exe with the patched one, I continue to get an internal error. What am i doing wrong? I'm sure i am patching the correct version.

NO it does not work.

No it does not work....I think I'm having the safedisk problem, as I get the splash screen and the nothing. Right back to desktop.

No I don't think so. If both the original and the cracked version fail, it's not a safedisc problem. A safedisc problem would cause the crack to work and the original not, a bad crack the other way around. No, it seems like a driver problem to me. Try experimenting with the latest video driver and a few known stable versions, and try changing the audio acceleration slider in dxdiag.exe. Which video card do you have ?

I'm using the GeForce4 MX I just downloaded the latest drivers, maybe I should go back a few. I just wanted to make sure I was installing the crack correctly, it's my firs time actually having this problem in years of gaming.

Try the 30.8x drivers, they're the last really stable drivers.

Well I seem to be at a loss. That is not working either. It may be a cd-rom problem as Jedi Knight outcast is having loading issues it never had before. Sometime it loads, sometimes it won't. Warcraft 3 on the other hand goes smoothly without a hitch.

Well, maybe you could try making a clonecd image on your hard disk and mount that using Daemon Tools. If that works, maybe it IS the cdrom reader. Which cdrom drive are you using for the original ?

Using Pacific Digital 32-12-48

I guess I can try that. Thing is this game was working just fine two months ago when I stopped playing. Since then I have done some XP updates, but that's it. It's the only thing I can think of that's affected things.
