Problem with ReMPeG2

I have a problem with rempeg2 the first movie i tried with rempeg was THE BEACH and it took hours to decode which was expected and when it finally reached 100% it came to an error screen basically sayin that the program will close now so i proceded on with ifo edit and then the burn which came out succssesful .....now i tried it with Full Metal Jacket yesterday and when rempeg got to 99% the same error came and rempeg closed so i then proceeded to ifoedit and burn ...when i played the movie the movie was fine until the last 10-15 minutes of the movie was cut off =( so i tried again today with rempeg and came up with the same error at 99% ......has anyone experienced this error with rempeg ?? help?

i have no idea ....in the FAQ section of dvdr2dvd-r site it says that it will only go to 99% most of the time but that it will not effect any of the main movie ...but this is untrue coz in full metal jacket it cuts off almost 20 mins of the movie =(

Did you try playing a little of the movie before you started dvdxcopy? They recommend doing this.

rempeg2

well personally i think dvdxcopy is crap basically because you need 2 dvds for nearly all films the rempeg way is better but even more so use a prog calle cinema craft encoder which does it in about half the time a bit more fiddley but better and when you get the error at 99% in rempeg 2 just ignore it cos the film hasnt encoded the very last frame thats all you wont even notive the differnece the entire film will still b there so just carry on

nalla when rempeg hits 99% and errors out i still proceed to burn but about the last frame being out is not accurate in my case coz the last 15 minutes of the movie is missing in 2 movies that i have tried full metal jacket and braveheart why is that ....was my average bitrate to high or low or what else may i be doing wrong?

update: well what actually happened in braveheart was that towards the last 15-20 mins of the movie the video freezes and the audio keeps playing on as if the movie was still going what could i be doing wrong ?

well im using tdk dvd-r
i have a sony dru-500a
im using smartripper
rempeg2
infoedit
and record now max for the burn

what i noticed today is after rempeg is finished i actually viewed the m2v file that rempeg made and like the finished dvd the m2v file stops also 20 mins or so before the finish of the movie could it be smartripper not ripping the dvd right?

i think i have narrowed it down to just smartripper coz i just got done ripping braveheart and after the rip was complete i went to check the m2v file that smartripper created and it too stopped at the same spot in the movie as the finished dvd that i had created earlier so im thinking that smartripper didnt rip the whole movie despite the fact that it said rip complete .....so is there any other rip program i could try instead of smartripper?
