what wire for messiah?

could someone please inform of which wire to use,what shop sells,and how much wire is required.cheers

Kynar insulated awg 30 wire wrapping wire, 1/4mm core 1/2mm overall. You can get a 50m roll fm www.techtrix.co.uk for £6.99 or alternatively go to RS site and get it there. Have chipped three times using this wire. Works perfectly every time.

.... and the UK uses SWG as the measure not AWG.

appologies. Techtrix are british site and describe as awg so got it from there. don't even know what it stands for but got the general idea over to our friend Bally...............

awg = American Wire Gauge
SWG = Imperial Standard Wire Gauge

We quoted awg as that's whats on the box, as the wire is made in the USA.

Well then you should be using enamelled copper wire which is rated in swg!

enamelled copper wire is far to much hassle

kynar rules perfect install everytime

v4 or below if solder to cd/dvd legs then enamell copper can be handy its thinner, but i still use the kynar

kynar=0.25mm enamel 35swg=0.2

i got 1/2kg 35swg anyone want it £5 pickup norwich
