sbox

Hello, I'm new to this. I hope this is not a stupid question
I was just wondering about the sbox, if you need to solder the wire they supply to you. I've already solder mine and it works fine.
The guy who sold me this claimed that I don't need to solder and it will work. I'm just wondering what the wire is used for.
Thanks all

All USB plugmods require 1 wire to solder. It will not work without it.

If he told you this, I would find someone else to buy from.... As Warlock said, without the wire, it wont work....

PS xboxps3gba, was your magic2 modchip hard to solder? i looked at the board and saw how small those solder points were and chickened out. that's why i tried the sbox instead. I was suprised I didn't fried the board.

The Magic 2/3 or Messiah/Messiah 2 take 23-24 wires... ALOT of the points are EXTREMELY small... If you're not very good at soldering, its WELL WORTH the $60.00 dollars that most people charge to install them......

It will gradually fail to load games until it stops completely.

Yes, the dvd laser is almost always the first to go. Pot adjustment will work sometimes but I would personally get a new PS2. Try to adjust it so it is working again then sell it.

Thanks for all your help everybody.
I bought a new len for my ps2 and put it in. However, I still have a problem with playing ps2 game (original so you can forget about backup ones) and I can't even play dvd movies (original). Note it does play playstation 1 games and also can run Game Shark.

I tried the link http://www.ps2newz.net./ where there a FAQ for installing the lens but unfortunately the FAQ link is offline.

I understand that there's 2 things to play with: 1) is the pots and 2) is to play with the height of the len so it's level.

Is there any other thing I need to do beside these these two?
Any instruction would be nice. Maybe another link that you can point me to. Thank you again.
