The mod you're talking about is a very early mod for the ps2.
You can also tell this by this comment from the site This is the newest version of SBox, it will supports the new PS2 R Type consoles (SCPH3000XR). It's the ultimate solution for ALL PS2. The model they're talking about is a version 5 and it certainly aint the new boy on the block anymore. The version 7 is. Now this mod STILL requires you to solder 1 wire and i personally would tell you to steer well away from it. If you want to do a simple install yourself then go for the No solder modchip with swap magic 2 disks (Note this doesn't play every dvdr game. 5 or 6 to date don't work > Look for one of my older posts that has a list of tested games by myself). But personally you can't get any better than getting a professional to do a messiah 2 install. It may be more costly when you have to pay for installation as well but many places give a guarentee on the work and it's much more efficient than the above mods. Hope this helps, James
