Yes, very important. The probable reason for probs on your system is that you have lots of copying software installed on your system and conflicts are occuring. The best thing to do ( as I had to do) is to take it all off then install one at a time and rationalise what you need: eg I had about ten back-up progs on my system and have cut it down to PrimoDVD and CloneCD with InstantCD/DVD as a driver and I got rid of all problems.
If you leave autoInsert Notification on you wil make a lot of coasters as I found out. Also look at your drive properties and make sure that automatic finalisation box is checked as this can cause havoc with your drive.. LOL
