Yes it you convert them to VCD/SVCD - sites as listed in above post

strip out unwanted parts or copy them to 2 discs (dvdXcopy does this for you)

DVD5 films you can backup to a single disc
DVD9 films you can either strip parts out or backup to 2 discs
