There is also a 7 digit number printed on the inside of the back cover and on the back cover....but it's not the normal CD Key looking number......no dashes, only 7 digits.......

Don't be offended, but no one is trying to be smart. It's the forums rules not to give out serial numbers - no matter what the sob story is. Even though your story may be true, a serial cannot be found here.
As I mentioned above, try getting in contact with EA Games to resolve the issue.
