backing up games on several discs?

I got a Xbox with LPC Mod V2.0.

For I only have a cdr/cdrw recorder, I want to backup games to cdrws and cdrs, but how can this be done when the games are bigger than 1 gig?

Is there any way to split them?

What to do if I dl a game, which I think is a more comfortable way then to rip the games myself, can I split the ISO or whatever I get to several discs?

First off, only cd-rw's work (and some cd-r's, but I haven't had any that did work yet)
If the game is over 2 gig, then chances are that it can't be cut down. If it is about a gig, that it probably can. You have to replace the sound files with 3 second audio files (by renaming and deleting), and replace the movie files (ussually .bik) with a smaller movie file. If I were to rip a game, I'd look for something like the opening logo, it's ussually the smallest, and copy/rename it untill I replace almost all of the movie files. But I hope you can stand seeing the opening logo of the game 500 times.

As for multiple cd's...
OK, I dunno if this method would work. Theoretically, it would, but requires too much hacking which isn't worth the work. You would have to find all the files in the startup menu, and all the options/etc..., which would go on every cd you burn. Then you'd have to find every single file used in the levels (1-5, 5-10, etc..). You would burn the first few levels onto a cd, and put the next few exactly where you left off and saved. A little hard to explain and not worth it, since the loading times will be horribly bad.

damn, but almost all the new xbox games are about 2.5 to 5 gigs large, so the best thing would be to copy them to the xbox' HD or get a DVD-Burner I guess.

I think I'll use my PC's HD for storing the ISOs and copy them to the xbox when needed. How long does it take to copy 3 GB to the xbox with a crossover cable?

Where can I find a list of games that can be backed up on a cdrw without having them ripped, reduced or nething?

Which DVD-Recorder would you recommend for backing up Xbox games, are there any games larger than 4.5 GB yet?

for hacked down releases and which games can be hacked down.

Also, have you considered getting a bigger HDD in your Xbox? $90 for about 60-80gb Hard-drives. If you don't want to rip that games, or want to play the games that can't be ripped, I suggest this. I didn't install one, because I'm getting a dvd burner (which are all back ordered) and am eagerly waiting for it.

Angry dvd burner

i would not get a hard drive because i dont have the time to copy partitions and that but if u do go ahead. Actually I would recomend a dvd burner I got one for $217 American money!! Go to www.Samsclub.com and go to computer acessories and then to drives. I go the Verbatim DVD+ producer. Only thing is it is only DVD+ compatible not DVD-. But DVD+R/RW are compatible with xbox and DVD+r's play in every dvd player so when u burn Dvd's welll i haope that helps

Waiting for pogo pin for excuter 2

thx for the fast reply yall. But how long would it take to copy from PC to Xbox? I don't want to go for a bigger HD anyway.

I just took a look at the xbox releases, and saw that there are several versions of Mortal Kombat out, one is 478 MB the other over 1 GB. How come and what is the 478 MB version missing??
