PS2 39001 and GS2 v1.99d Help!

Hi guys!

I've read all over the forum and I can't seem to find any help on the situation I'm in.

It goes as follows:

I have a US Playstation 2 SCPH-39001 (one of the new v7 systems).

I also have a new GameShark 2 v2 (Americas v1.99d).

Now, I _USED_ to have an old v1 PS2 and the GameShark v1.9 disc. I called Interact and they sent me an updated v1.99d disc because my old v1.9 disc does not work in the new v7 PS2.

The problem now, is that even though this new v1.99d disc works in my PS2, it does _NOT_ boot DVDrips any longer! I'm using the old GS2 swap method (I don't have a mod-chip, and I'm not really interested in getting one at the moment, so I just want help in this situation first) as follows:

Boot GameShark 2, at the menu, select Start Game, then select Without Codes. At the next screen, swap the GS2 disc with backup disc, and then press X.

After I press X, the PS2 reads the disc for about 3 seconds, then eventually comes OUT of the GS2 program and brings up the Playstation 2 screen that reads "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 formatted disc." Talk about WEIRD!

So has anyone had this problem besides me? I know the PS2 reads all of my normal CDs and DVDs. I've tested many originals of PS1 and PS2 games and many DVD movies. They all read just fine.... so why is it that the GS2 v1.99d and the PS2 v7 aren't getting along anymore?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
