help........if i back up a dvd formatted game with a dvd writes will i have to use dvd-r or can i use cd-r

Yes you will need to back-up onto DVD-R. Try not to use DVD+R media as most PS2's don't like them.

Also you can't back-up onto DVD-R(W) or DVD+R(W).

Software: PrimoDVD or RecordNow Max.

If you have a V5 of higher PS2, it will probably read the +r format.

Again, if you have a V5 or higher PS2, you can most likely use the -RW or +RW format.
My V5 will play the -RW just fine.
