I ham having the same problem with mine, except i am running win98se. if you go to the stompinc.com website and look in their file forums, they will guide you to a microsoft link that tells you what to do to fix this problem. it involves a registry edit . Unfortunately i haven't seen anything for win98 yet

Interesting, Im running Windows XP Pro and I have had no such problems. Im wondering if you accidentally shut down your pc during the firmware update?

I am currently running the firmware update 1.0f

I finally got mine to work!! first you may have to uninstall alot of those programs you have. then go to the stompinc.com website. go to the upgrades page. the first upgrade is the one you want. it says" to upgrade rnm3.5 to 4.5". it works for all versions of recordnowmax(including platinum according to the rep on the support line). download and save it . then make sure you have nothing running in the background(to include the recordnowmax program. a good way to do this (besides alt, ctrl.endtask) is to run msconfig, go to startup tab, and shut down any programs that do not involve windows( such as any antivirus program, msn messenger, etc..). you will then have to reboot. when thats done go to where you saved the file and click on it, it should self install. it will also tell you that it has detected previous version of rnm and that it will have to delete it. click ok and then it will update your files. when thats done you will have to reboot again. all the programs that you turned off in the msconfig will be back so don't worry about that. i've been trying to get mine to work since yesterday and i now have it recognizing my dru500a.
