Cant copy Natalie Imbruglia CD!

They said it would happen & it has...This is the first audio CD I've not been able to copy. Any form of DAE throws an error with the CD-ROM. After a few attempts with Clone I got it to create an image but when I burned the disc it contained all blank tracks! Anyone know of a way round it ?
Or at least know which copy protection it uses so I can search around ??
Cheers in advance
Glenn

yes, some music cds are now protected. just yesterday I found a track thats playable in standalone cdplayer but not in pc (thus can't be ripped to MP3), but this is not Imbruglia CD.

best way I guess will be going to cdmediaworld and read article bout cd-protections, i'm still struggling to beat this one, so can't help you much.

Try making image with DDump. You can find it in CD MediaWorld. That should work.

Just made a full working copy. Used clony to find the protection, then used it to start Clone CD. I cut it using a plextor 8-2-20 firmware 1.05. Read the image in using a plextor 32X cd rom. still dont play on the PC, but works great in the car etc!

Cheers for all the replies.
Utukka - I have the opposite problem in that all my copies play fine on the PC, but I get all blank tracks on a normal player! I think its something to do with you owning a Plextor as these seem far better at reading/writing with CloneCD (damn - I may have to upgrade after all!) Did Clony state it was a Cactus Data Shield ? My CD Reader came up as audio CD, and my writer (Yamaha 4416) said CD extra
Will try the DDump app mentioned...
Thanks again

Tried ISOBuster but my Yamaha 4416S still wouldnt rip the tracks (error reading sectors). Upgrade to latest f/w (1.0j) still didnt do the trick

Wouldnt mind...but I dont like the CD *that* much - its just the principle!
Cheers

I was under the impression that this cd is protected with Cactus Data Shield?

And cdmediaworld reports this is copyable with CloneCD.
From the posts above it would seem to be the case. RAW writer and CloneCD still produces a copy.

And as with all cloned copies....the protection is still intact, so of course it won't play in a pc cdrom.

It is indeed Cactus...Tried copying it using latest version Clone on my Yamaha 4416S - it claims it copied successfully, and plays on the PC fine, but in a domestic player it plays all blank tracks.

Tried on friends' writers & still had probs...The new Plex 24x managed 10 out of 12 then fell over. Another mate had an HP but the less said about that...
Only one which could Clone it correctly was another mate's Ricoh (12x). Oddly enough even though it's a clone (and supposedly identical copy) I can rip this to WAV using ISOBister, but cant do this with the original ????
