Help, Magic 3 Problem!!

I just got a Magic 3 installed in a v5 console, (the guy ran out of Messiah 2 and said the chips were practically identical). Although everything boots fine, i find that the ntsc ps games seem to play up a bit. I have checked the forum but i don't think think its the same problem other people have. The colors are fine, but its just that the screen seems to have been shifted up a couple of inchs.

on some games there is a screen calibration setting! what game was distorted?

not sure but there might be a fix on the chip that you should do.
Try contacting Charlie cause i ve seen him answer the ecxact same question. Try to do a search. If you are lucky it might be on this forum.

Is the Magic 3 any good. Lots of problem seem to be poping up with it

There are more Magic 3 problem questions than Messiah 2.

Anyway, I have concluded that these problems are down to the individual TV in many cases. Once you've got the NTSC/PAL fix in place, the proper RGB cable and you lose a couple of inches, then the TV isn't able to resolve pseudo PAL (60 Hz).

My PAL only TV does, but others clearly don't.

So far i haven't had anyother problems, games and everything boot properly, so i got nothing against the chip, only ntsc ps games so far. The only ntsc ps2 game i have is we6 but that may have been patched, not sure so i have to find true ntsc game before i can tell u. I've tried with kof99 and we2002 and both u can't shift the screen inside the game. ALso colours run fine with all games.

ALso so people have said kingdom hearts freezes with magic 3, i've got original and i've been trying to make it freeze but can't. How have other people gotten it to freeze?? Just trying to confirm or make the rumours untrue. THanks!!

i have kingdom hearts on dvdr and it freezed twice already and ive played it twice, i have a magic 3 also. (grrr)

bad luck 2 u then, havn't had any freezes yet fortunately
only gripe is ntsc ps games are shifted up an inch or so which is a problem when all your ps games and ntsc and also i like fighting games so now i can't see hp bar

chris174 DO NOT get a magic 3 if you havent bought it yet, if you want a magic get the magic 3.1 it fixes the problems. elitebackups.com has it for 32 bucks.

Thanks, im getting a ps2 of a guy in liverpool which has a magic 2 fitted in them.
