Copying Copied PS2 DVD Games

Hi everyone. I would firstly like to say thanx for all the info provided here for me before i got my PS2.

Secondly, i have a quick question ?

I have a brand new PS2 Series 7, with a magic 3 chip fitted.

I have tested everything on this and everything appears to work, that is,

* Original PS2 DVD Games
* Copied PS2 DVD Games
* DVD Movies
* Original and copied PSX games

Now..... When we (my friend and me) have attempted to copy a working copy PS2 DVD, the copy won't play, the station reports an DISK READ ERROR.

Info;

We have a Pioneer DVR 105 DVD-RW Drive, running windows XP Pro, using Prassi Primo DVD 2.0 and following the guides posted here. The only difference is we are using Disk-planet white top DVD-R disks.

Any one have any idea why these copies of copies won't work when the original copy (bought off the net from another source) will.

Does it matter which media you use, as the PSX wasn't that fussy ?

For cd based games it isn't that particular. For dvd based games it is very picky. Try a higher quality media. US: Verbatim, TDK. UK: Traxdata.

It shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah. Dye colour is important especially on PS2 which is a bit picky, however there is no hard and fast rule as all PS2's lasers are calibrated slightly differently and some specific models have been deliberately calibrated so that they'll read originals but not backups so it's a case of trial and error for what DVDR works best for your PS2. I use DVDMaster and have never got a duff backup with them yet. Burn surface is darker purple than most dvdr so don't know if that makes a difference. There was quite a lot of threads on dvdr type and colour a while back so try looking through the backlist of threads and see what you can find.

Regards
