Well im thinking about getting my old one re-chipped.

Is it safe to do or not? And if the laser has been messed up can a new one be fitted?

Yeh it's safe to do. I've not swapped a neo2.2 with messiah 2 be4 but have done with magic3.

So it's gonna cost you for the mod + install, then if ur dvd drive plays up its gonna cost you around another £40 for new drive. I honestly think its best to just sell your ver4 and save up for a new machine.

I had the same dilema as you once, and i had to do without a ps2 for 4 weeks to get the money together for a new machine and new mod but i am happy i did in the end.

Obviously the decision is up to you but do what you think best.

Well i have been told by my gran to wait till after christmas because she is going to give me money, so i might wait and see what money i get off her and my mum and dad

Its difficult to say dude, Just remember you've got the wear and tear since you bought it (I take it you bought it new) and the damage the neo2.2 has probably done.
Just save up m8

Well i have £20 already, that's just today. It's off Paper Money.

Hopefully i'll get around £150 for christmas or something
